Frigga the All-Mother
"Frigg is the foremost. She owns the dwelling called Fensalir, and it is splendid in all ways."
-Prose Edda
Counterpart to King Odin the All-Father is Queen Frigga the All-Mother. She sits upon her throne, weaving the cosmos. She is also the keeper of the keys of Asguard. When someone dies too young, she brings them close to her, forever caring for them in death.
Too much lore has been lost related to the goddesses, with only fragmented verse to be found in most Norse myths books. With this painting I did a lot of research on more modern Germanic Goddesses. Theorizing that more modern Goddesses descend from Frigga I combined what lore we have to infer Frigga's essence.
The original fantasy painting was done in oil and measures 18" x 24".
This is a signed and numbered archival print, measuring 18"x24".
The original was created in oil paint by artist Sam Flegal.
This signed and numbered edition is limited to 30 copies.
Only 25 remain.
